HELP Hotline- Helping, Educating, and Listening to People
The HELP Hotline is a volunteer telephone hotline service staffed by Rowan students who are trained to listen to your concerns and to refer callers to appropriate resources when needed. HELP Hotline volunteers are available to take your calls every evening from 9:00PM to midnight during the Fall and Spring semesters.
The H.E.L.P. Hotline’s mission is to serve as an informal outlet for all Rowan University students in times of crisis or personal concern. The Hotline also serves to educate the Rowan University community, and promote tolerance, regarding a variety of issues concerning human well-being. These issues include suicide, anxiety, and depression among other mental health issues. To ensure this process, we train Rowan University students to help support others via telephone hotline service. Hotline volunteers are trained to develop active listening skills, and learn how to respond appropriately when approached with a variety of situations, through listening and appropriate referrals.
