Leadership Sustainability
About Leadership Sustainability
Students participating in Leadership Sustainability experiences will actively demonstrate leadership skills in organization, work, or internship positions. Specifically, a further understanding of the following advanced leadership skills is expected:
- Management (succession planning, policies, protocol development, time management, communication, how to run effective meetings)
- Equality
- Process and follow through
- Quality over Quantity
- Professionalism/Protocol
A focus of Leadership Sustainability will be for students to develop transition plans for their current leadership responsibilities, assist in training new members, and practice sustainable leadership. Students will be asked to finalize their personal leadership statement and complete their co-curricular transcript or portfolio for review with a Leadership Mentor.
Leadership Sustainability Experiences
Students can earn Leadership Sustainability Certification by completing one or more of the following capstone experiences:
Portfolio Review
Students can partner with a leadership mentor to validate their achievement through review of their co-curricular portfolio and personal leadership statement. Portfolios should thoroughly describe a variety of activities that demonstrate successful completion of program requirements.
