My Favorite Inspirational Quote, Phrase or Advice:

Struggle, another sign that God loves you. A test so one day you can reach the heavens above you. Let your past be your past, let it go and don't regret it. Pain, hurt and sorrow only last as long as you let it. People talk good or bad, some love and hate. Only God can judge you on your past mistakes. Step forward to your future in the positive direction. No need for weapons, you'll have God as your protection. --Antoine Braxton

My Favorite Inspirational Quote, Phrase or Advice:

To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift. - Steve Prefontaine. I learned this quote from my years of running, as Prefontaine is a legend in the sport. Basically it's saying it doesn't matter how smart or talented you may or may not be. It's one thing to have the ability; it's another to utilize it. You have to use what you have in the best way you can if you want to accomplish something important.

Don't be discouraged, always be optimistic, and just have fun. College only comes around once in a lifetime, and even though it's 4 years, those 4 years will go by so quickly. Always take chances, and believe me, your college years will probably be the most memorable years of your life. Enjoy it!

My Favorite Inspirational Quote, Phrase or Advice:

"If you think you can do a thing or think you can't do a thing, you're right." - Henry Ford

I absolutely love this quote because it's so true. I believe that everything you have accomplished in life and will go on to accomplish in life will be from YOUR mindset and how YOU view things. Essentially, if you believe you can do something, and you put your heart and mind to it, then your perseverance will pull you through to be able to do anything you want.

My Favorite Inspirational Quote, Phrase or Advice:

Hobbies and/or Interests:

I love cheerleading and volleyball.

Career Aspirations:

Best Advice for New Students:

The best advice I could give would just be to not hold back. A lot of times, freshmen like to just take one year and focus on classes, which is fine, but if there is something you aspire to do, do it. Don't be intimidated because it's something you've never done. College is a time to make yourself as well rounded as possible. Take advantage of it.

My Favorite Inspirational Quote, Phrase or Advice:

"Never let the fear of the thorns keep you from reaching the rose"

A friend told me this once, so I don't know who actually said it, but I live by it. You will have your ups and downs but there's always that "rose" which makes it all worth it.

Best Advice for New Students:

College might seem overwhelming at first, with lots of new people and tons of homework, but if you get organized you'll get through your first semester with ease.

My Favorite Inspirational Quote, Phrase or Advice:

"You wake up at Seatac, SFO, LAX. You wake up at O'Hare, Dallas-Fort Worth, BWI. Pacific, mountain, central. Lose an hour, gain an hour. This is your life, and it's ending one minute at a time. You wake up at Air Harbor International. If you wake up at a different time, in a different place, could you wake up as a different person?"

This quote, from Fight Club, is important to me because it reminds me to be true to myself no matter where I am or what I do.

"Love life, engage in it, give it all you've got. Love it with a passion, because life truly does give back, many times over, what you put into it." - Maya Angelou

This quote is important to me because I know that when you come to college you have to put your best foot forward and excel in your classes. I know that when I'm staying up late finishing papers or doing homework that in the end it will pay off because I will have my dream job.

Best Advice for New Students:

Make an effort to get to know people, when you arrive at school try to get to know everyone you can, even if you never talk to that person again. This way you can surround yourself with a solid group of friends, then get involved in some activity, an organization, or intramurals. All this will make college that much better!

My Favorite Inspirational Quote, Phrase or Advice:

"Everything happens for a reason"

I am not really sure who coined this phrase, but my parents always told this to me anytime something significant would happen in my life, good or bad. I believe a lot of what happens to us happens for a distinct reason, at school you will be faced with many decisions and it is up to you to make the one you feel is best.

My Favorite Inspirational Quote, Phrase or Advice:

"Don't Worry, Be Happy" by Meher Baba

Best Advice for New Students:

Many courses at Rowan are part of a sequence that must be taken in order, and that are offered only once a year - which means that if you fail to take them, you're automatically a year behind, and may have to stay another year to get your degree. In order to prevent this, consult with an advisor regularly to avoid extra money being spent.
