Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to do now to prepare for Welcome Week?
Mark your calendar for September 1-3, 2012! Plan family vacations, work schedules, and housing leases (if living off-campus) early so you will be able to start Welcome Weekend on Sunday, September 2. If you did not have your RowanCard (student ID) printed during orientation, stop by the RowanCard ID Processing Center on the first floor of the Chamberlain Student Center, next to the Information Desk Mondays-Fridays between 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. You will need to swipe your RowanCard for all meals and admission to many campus events.

Why am I required to attend Orientation and Welcome programs?
Many students often wonder why they are required to attend both the Orientation and Welcome Weekend/Start Up Smart programs. Extensive research shows that students who particiapte in programs like these are more successful during their first year of college. Orientation and Welcome events provide students with the opportunity to meet people, become familiar with their new surroundings, and learn about the academic and social norms or the University before classes even start. They are designed to complement one another and contribute to your success.
