Cultural Organizations

ACA

The Asian Cultural Association

The Asian Cultural Association (ACA) has come from humble beginnings, but has grown into a large and dedicated organization. ACA’s purpose is to promote Asian culture and diversity on Rowan University’s campus. To achieve this purpose, ACA works to connect itself and, by extension, the Asian culture to Rowan University’s population to form a more multicultural campus through education and awareness.

BCL

The Black Cultural League

We, the students of the Black Cultural League (BCL), unite to provide a more visible, social and cultural atmosphere of education in the college community and society, to promote unity, cultural awareness, educational achievement, and excellence of character among fellow students and ourselves.

CAAS

The Council for African-American Studies

The Council for Africa-American Studies (CAAS) in conjunction with the African-American Studies program, strives to create an environment outside of the classroom for discussion and education, to the Rowan University community, on issues concerning African-American studies.

El Circulo de Espanol

El Circulo de Espanol

El Circulo de Espanol offers a unique experience to all those students interested in the Spanish language. The organization provides each student with a dynamic environment in which they can practice and accomplish a deep knowledge about the Hispanic cultures. Furthermore, the organization gives the opportunity of participating in community service, acquiring knowledge of other cultures, and social interaction with other students.

GSA

The Gay/Straight Alliance

The Gay/Straight Alliance (GSA) at Rowan University is not just a group for gay, bisexual or questioning students on campus. GSA gives all students a chance to interact with others on another level of diversity. This, in part, creates a comfortable environment between LGBTQ and straight students on and beyond campus.

NAACP

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People ensures the political, educational, social and economic equality of minority groups and citizens; achieves equality of rights and eliminates race and prejudice among the citizens of the United States; removes all barriers of racial discrimination through the democratic processes; seeks to enact and enforce federal, state, and local laws securing civil rights; informs the public of the adverse affects of racial discrimination and seeks elimination; educates persons as to their constitutional rights and takes all lawful actions in furtherance of those principles.
