About Your Orientation Fee
The orientation fee covers the cost of orientation programming, including: meals (for both students and parents & family members); a Rowan t-shirt & drawstring backpack; publications & materials; mailings; rental of tables, chairs & equipment; the online orientation reservation system; and ongoing programming throughout the academic year to support your transition to college.
An orientation fee is assessed at the time you make your reservation to attend an orientation session. You can pay your orientation program fee online with a MasterCard or Visa during the reservation process. You can also select to mail a check to our office if needed. The fee structure for 2015 orientation programs is:
Fall term admits:
1 day orientation programs (Transfer students attending one day programs, Final Fall/International Orientation: non-residential): $75
2 day orientation programs (Freshmen, Final Fall/International Orientation: residential students, Transfer students attending overnight orientation): $175
Spring term admits:
All Freshmen & Transfer students (1 day orientation program): $75
Online orientation fee:
We strongly encourage all new students to attend an on-campus orientation program. Any new student who can not attend an on-campus orientation program must complete online orientation. The fee for online orientation is the same as on-campus orientation. These students can stop by our office, 203 Savitz Hall, to receive their orientation materials when they arrive to campus.
Unfortunately orientation services are not available à la carte. We are cost-conscious when designing our programs while best supporting a student's transition to college. We receive the lowest possible pricing on food, publications, materials, and other items by ordering enough in bulk for all new students.
Students with extreme financial need can contact our office to discuss the orientation fee. Students can elect to defer payment of the orientation fee, however full payment must be made before students can enroll in classes for the next semester. Please fax or mail this request form to our office, and once received, a staff member will call you to complete your orientation reservation. Your space in an orientation program is not confirmed until payment is made, waived, or a deferment is approved.
Rowan University utilizes VZ Orientation from VisualZen (WWW.ORIENTATIONFEE.COM) for orientation program reservations and as our payment processor. The orientation fee charge will appear on your credit card statement as "ORIENTATIONFEE.COM". PLEASE NOTE: The orientation fee is NON-REFUNDABLE.
