"RU Ready for Rowan" Summer Orientation

About the PROS

“Students helping students” are the watchwords for a special group of upperclass students known as the PROS (Peer Referral and Orientation Staff) who will be on hand to offer their expertise during orientation.

These 50 upperclassmen are enthusiastic about attending Rowan and they hope you will feel the same way. That’s why they come back to the campus during summer break to assist with orientation.

The PROS want students and parents to get personal attention, become familiar with the campus and have a pleasurable and rewarding experience at orientation.

PROS have been selected and specially trained to assist students with personal, social and academic concerns. Generally, they interact with students during orientation to assist, acclimate, befriend and support students as they adjust to the campus. They are trained to help new students adjust to university life and persist in attaining educational goals.

Specifically, the PROS are not here to solve students’ problems, but to assist students in finding their own solutions. The PROS act as resources, directing fellow students to on-campus facilities and professionals who can help.
