Important Dates

The timeline below will make you aware of what needs to be done as prospective, new parents and family members of an incoming first year student at Rowan.

Spring 2013

January

  • 1/1 - Earliest date to File a FAFSA for the academic year 2013/2014

March

  • 3/15 - Suggested date to have your FAFSA on file to allow RU to offer incoming freshman a preliminary financial aid award package

April

  • 4/30 - Complete required placement test

May

  • 5/1 - Submission of Enrollment Comfirmation form and $100 Deposit (payable by check only) to Admissions
  • 5/1 - Apply for housing and submit $200 housing deposit
  • 5/2 - Update financial aid records through submission of necessary documents that will complete your FAFSA
  • 5/2 - Register to attend summer orientation session
  • 5/2 - Set up your Rowan e-mail account
  • 5/13 - Review and accept financial aid award package

Summer 2013

June

  • 6/3 - Familiarize yourself with Rowan student self-service
  • 6/3 - Review Health Insurance Requirements and Benefits
  • 17 & 18 - Session I: Freshman Orientation
  • 19 & 20 - Session II: Freshman Orientation
  • 23 & 24 - Session III: Freshman Orientation
  • 25 & 26 - Session IV: Freshman Orientation

July

  • 7/1 - Review Parent and Family Handbook
  • 7/1 - Join the Parent Connection E-Mail Group
  • 7/1 - Complete Rowan student self-service "Parent/Guardian Demographic Information"
  • 7/1 - Register for "Rowan Alert: Emergency Notification System"through Rowan student self-service
  • 7/15 - Health forms due

August

  • 8/1 - Completion of required online Alcohol-Wise course deadline
  • 8/1 - Search for "work-study" job (student employment) online, www.rowan.edu/provost/financialaid/workstudy.html
  • 8/7 - Fall bill payment deadline
  • 8/31 - Freshman Move-In Day
  • 8/31 - Move-In Day: "All Aboard the Brown-Eyed Susan" for parents, family members and students

Fall 2013

September

  • 9/2 - Semester classes begin
  • 9/28 & 29 - Family Weekend

October

November         

  • 11/5 - Election Day (No Classes)
  • 11/28 & 29 - Thanksgiving Recess (No Classes)

December

  • 12/13-19 - Finals Week
  • 12/19 - Fall Semester Concludes

Spring 2014
