6 on 6 Indoor Soccer
Preseason Information Overview: The 6 on 6 Indoor Soccer Season consists of 5 divisions: Men's, Fraternity, Women's, Sorority & Co-Rec. Each registered team will receive at least 4 regular season games. For any team to qualify for the single elimination playoffs, they must have a .500 record or better and at least a 3.5 sportsmanship ratings average. Teams owing a forfeit fee or that have forfeited 2 contests are not eligible for playoffs. Top 4 fraternities and sororities qualify for playoffs regardless of records. Teams will be seeded and ranked according to records, league strength, and other factors determined by the intramural department. Games are played across 2 basketball courts. SLIDE TACKLING IS STRICLTY FORBIDDEN AND WILL BE RULED A RED CARD/EJECTION. This is at the discretion of the officials. If a player slips or slides to make a play, the officials can rule this a slide tackle or a slide which may still warrant a yellow card. Teams consists of 6 players, which consists of 5 on court players and 1 goalie. The games will be 20-minute, running halves. There will be a 5 minute halftime. Teams must have at least 4 players checked in to avoid a forfeit, and teams have a 5 minute grace period to check-in for the game. The team not checked in will be penalized 1 goal per minute. Co-Rec teams may play with 3 men/3 women, 3 women/2 men, 2 men/3 women, or 2 men/2 women. Female goals are worth 1 additional point. Any discretion on whether the goal is worth 2 or 1 based on the last player touched will count as 1 point. The intramural department supplies the ball and all participants are highly recommended to wear shin guards. There is no offsides Registration Information: The registration period for the 6 on 6 Indoor Soccer League is Tuesday, Sept. 30th - Tuesday, Oct. 7th. Deadline on Tuesday, Oct. 7th is at 7pm at the Rec Center Front Desk. Cost is $30/team. All registration forms must be filled out completely with all the relevant information from the captain and the participating teammates. Teams must submit an availability, with all open times they can participate. Rosters are open during the season and additional players may be added each contest until the playoffs. All participants must submit their Rowan ID # and fill out the waiver prior to participation. Teams that forfeit a regular season game will owe half the team registration prior to their next game.
