Homecoming Intramural Battleship II
The 2nd Annual Intramural Homecoming Battleship II event will be hosted on Wednesday, October 16th at the Rec Center Pool from 9pm - 11:30pm (Event may end earlier based on length of each match). The event is limited to the first 24 team canoes that register. The teams will be divided into 4 matches/pools. The remaining canoes from those 4 matches will play in a championship match to claim the title of Battleship Champioin.
This is an open event so both men and women can participate. Each team registered must have 4 members in the canoe.
The registration deadline is on Tuesday, October 14th at the Rec Center Front Desk. Cost to participate is $10/team. Teams that register after the last spot will be put on a waiting list. All registration forms must be filled out completely with all the relevant information from the the participants. All participants must submit their Rowan ID # and sign the waiver prior to participation.
Object of the Game:
Each team has 1 member with a paddle that can only be used to direct the canoe and may not be used to splash water or make contact with the other canoes/team members. Failure to follow this rule may result in a penalty or automatic forfeit. The remaining 3 players will receive a 5 gallon bucket that can only be used to throw water at opponents. It can also be used to shield water from entering the canoe. You cannot use your bucket, paddle or hands to remove water once in the canoe. Teams that lose paddles or buckets can attempt to retrieve them, but can play without them.
Rec Center lifeguards will be stationed on the pool deck as well as in the water. The lifeguards in the water may re-direct canoes to avoid hitting the pool deck as well as to keep canoes involved in engaging opponents, rather than avoiding.
Once your canoe has been sunk or your team has been disqualified, you must get out of the canoe and guide it to the loading zone of the pool.
