Overview:

The 6 on 6 Indoor Soccer Season consists of 5 divisions: Men's, Fraternity, Women's, Sorority & Co-Rec. Each registered team will receive at least 4 regular season games. For any team to qualify for the single elimination playoffs, the top 2 teams from each division qualify for the playoffs with at least 3.5 sportsmanship ratings average.. Teams owing a forfeit fee or that have forfeited 2 contests are not eligible for playoffs. Top 4 fraternities and sororities qualify for playoffs regardless of records. Teams will be seeded and ranked according to records, league strength, and other factors determined by the intramural department.

Teams consists of 6 players, which consists of 5 on court players and 1 goalie. The games will be 20-minute, running halves. There will be a 5 minute halftime. Teams must have at least 4 players checked in to avoid a forfeit, and teams have a 5 minute grace period to check-in for the game. The team not checked in will be penalized 1 goal per minute. Co-Rec teams may play with 3 men/3 women, 3 women/2 men, 2 men/3 women, or 2 men/2 women. Female goals are worth 1 additional point. Any discretion on whether the goal is worth 2 or 1 based on the last player touched will count as 1 point. The intramural department supplies the ball and all participants are highly recommended to wear shin guards. There is no offsides

Games are played across 2 basketball courts. SLIDE TACKLING IS STRICLTY FORBIDDEN AND WILL BE RULED A RED CARD/EJECTION. This is at the discretion of the officials. If a player slips or slides to make a play, the officials can rule this a slide tackle or a slide which may still warrant a yellow card.

 

 

Registration Information:

The registration period begins September 4th and ends September 17th . Registration will take place through IM Leagues, but payment must still be made at the Rec Center front desk. The cost is $30/team. All registrations must be fully completed with the team's availability by the captain via IM Leagues. IM Leagues will have predetermined timeslots for different leagues, so the first teams to register will have first choice as to what division and what times they will play their games. Rosters are open via IM Leagues during the season and additional players may be added until playoffs begin. In order to be eligible for playoffs, the participant must have played in at least one (1) regular season game prior to the start of playoffs. All participants must register for an IM Leagues account and fill out the waiver on IM Leagues prior to participation. Failure to register and make the team payment by the deadline may result in the team not being able to participate or being assessed a $15 late fee.


The mandatory captain's meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 18th at 9:45pm in the Rec Center Group Exercise Room. Any teams not represented at the captain's meeting will be assessed a $15 fee for missing the meeting. If the team captain is not available, a team representative must attend. This meeting will go over the playing procedures and rules for the season and is also an opportunity to ask questions. Free agents should also register for an account on IM Leagues and they may then declare free agent status for a particular sport.

 

**ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER FOR IMLEAGUES IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN INTRAMURALS.**

After the captain creates the team through IMLeagues, individual players must request to join that team and will then be accepted or rejected by their captain. Any player who does not sign up for IMLeagues and who does not join a team through IMLeagues WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE!
