IM AP Poll Rankings --- 2008 Volleyball Season

Men's Conference

The Intramural Volleyball League Preseason rankings are in and Team Volleyball sits at #1. The Dig division looks strong also hosting the #2 Spike the Punch and #5 Regulators. The Spike division cannot be counted out yet though as they hold the #3 and #4 spots with Cookie Monster and Memory of Mike.

 

Co-Rec Conference

The Co-Rec Conference has three divisions full of teams all looking for the championship. The Preseason rankings have veteran squad High Life at #1. The #2 spot belongs to Team Theme who is the only team representing the Dig Division. #3 What She Said and #5 Ben vs. Bear both represent the Spike division and look to make their way up to #1. Finally Victorious Secret sits at #4 but must prove that a clever name isn’t enough to be the champions.

 

Fraternity Conference

Preseason Fraternity rankings show AXP at #1 in a sport that they love to dominate. TKE and Phi Kappa Sigma look to not make it an easy run to the championship for them as they try to secure President’s Cup point of their own.

 

Sorority Conference

The race for the President’s Cup is close heading into the second half of the semester and volleyball should be no different for competition. The #1 spot belongs to the competitive Phi Sigma Sigma ladies

 

Women's Conference

The ladies of the Rec team look to repeat their win from the first semester and take another volleyball championship. #2 Pink Thunder is always competitive and hopes to take that crown away this semester. Rounding out the top 3 the Ted Shreds want to make a name for themselves and win their own championship.

 

 

Overview:

Must wear non-marking rubber-soled shoes. 6 vs. 6, must have at least 4 people to start the game. Teams will play 3 games per match. Rally scoring to 25 points (win by 2, cap of 30) for the first 2 games, and to 15 points (win by 2, cap of 20) for the 3rd game. Maximum of 3 hits per volley, except a block does not count as one hit. For Co-Rec, teams can start with even males/females of 1 less/more. NO SPECIAL RULES FOR GENDER IN CO-REC.

 

Registration Information:

The deadline for the 6 on 6 Indoor Volleyball League is on Tuesday, March 4th at 7pm at the Rec Center Front Desk. Cost is $30/team. All registration forms must be filled out completely with all the relevant information from the captain and the participating teammates. Teams must submit an availability, with all open times they can participate. Rosters are open during the season and additional players may be added each contest until the playoffs. All participants must submit their Rowan ID # and fill out the waiver prior to participation. Failure to turn in the proper forms and payment by the deadline, may result in the team not being able to participate or being assessed a $15 late fee.

The mandatory captain's meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 4th at 9:00pm at the Rec Center Group Exercise Room. Any teams not represented at the captain's meeting will be assessed a $15 fee for missing the meeting. If the team captain is not available, a team representative must attend. This meeting will go over the playing procedures and rules for the season and is also an opportunity to ask questions. Free agents are available at the meeting.
