9 on 9 Outdoor Soccer League

Overview:

**ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER FOR IMLEAGUES IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN INTRAMURALS.**

After the captain creates the team through IMLeagues, individual players must request to join that team and will then be accepted or rejected by their captain. Any player who does not sign up for IMLeagues and who does not join a team through IMLeagues WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE!

The 9 on 9 Outdoor Soccer League consists of 5 divisions: Men's, Women's, Fraternity, Sorority & Co-Rec. Each registered team will receive at least 4 regular season games. The top 2 teams from each division will qualify for the playoffs, provided they have a sportsmanship average of at least 3.5. Teams owing a forfeit fee or that have forfeited 2 contests are not eligible.

The games will be 20-minute, running halves, with the clock stopping at the referees discretion for any extended delays to the game. Teams must have at least 6 players checked in to avoid a forfeit, and teams have a 5 minute grace period to check-in for the game. The team not checked in can be penalized 1 goal per 2 minutes that the other team is late (maximum of 2-0 lead) at their opponent's discretion. Co-Rec teams may play with 3 men/3 women, 4 men/3 women, 4 men/4 women, 4 men/5 women, or 5 men/4 women. There must also be no more than 1 additional male player than female players playing the field (not including the goalkeeper) at any given time. For example, if a co-rec team is playing with a female goalkeeper, they must then play the field with a combination of 4 men/4 women, 4 men/3 women, or 3 men/4 women. Teams MAY NOT use a combination of 5 men and 3 women to play in the field.

There will be no overtimes in the regular season. Metal tipped or metal cleats are prohibited. Slide tackles are illegal and result in an automatic ejection (red card). Ejected players may not be replaced (play shorthanded). Two yellow cards results in a red card and player ejection.

Teams that fail to arrive to their scheduled game will be assessed a $15 missed game fee.

All participants must show valid Rowan ID, sign waiver, and take off jewelry prior to game. All participants must abide by shirt color policy (dark or white...NO GRAY).

The deadline for registering for the 9 on 9 Outdoor Soccer League is Monday, February 20th at 7pm. Registration will take place through IM Leagues, but payment must still be made at the Rec Center front desk. The cost is $30/team. All registrations must be fully completed with the team's availability by the captain via IM Leagues. IM Leagues will have predetermined timeslots for different leagues, so the first teams to register will have first choice as to what division and what times they will play their games. Rosters are open via IM Leagues during the season and additional players may be added until playoffs begin. In order to be eligible for playoffs, the participant must have played in at least one (1) regular season game prior to the start of playoffs. All participants must register for an IM Leagues account and fill out the waiver on IM Leagues prior to participation. Failure to register and make the team payment by the deadline may result in the team not being able to participate or being assessed a $15 late fee.

The mandatory captain's meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 21st at 10pm in the Rec Center Group Exercise Room. Any teams not represented at the captain's meeting will be assessed a $15 fee for missing the meeting. If the team captain is not available, a team representative must attend. This meeting will go over the playing procedures and rules for the season and is also an opportunity to ask questions. Free agents should also register for an account on IM Leagues and they may then declare free agent status for a particular sport.
