Extramural Flag Football Officiating
Rowan Intramural Sports annually sends 2-8 officials to participate and officiate in Regional Tournaments where they learn the intracacies in officiating flag football. This tournament also provides an avenue for these student officials to be evaluated and selected to officiate in the national intramural tournament of that sport. During the 2007-2008 flag football season the following individuals participated in officiating regional tournaments. Cornell Flag Football Regional: Drew Carney, Chris Gottlick, & RJ Canning Maryland Flag Football Regional: Drew Carney, Ed Dean, Ray Picone, Dan Wojtaszek, & Sara Tsivikis Drew Carney was selected from the Maryland Regional, while Chris Gottlick was chosen from the Cornell Regional to officiate at the 2008 NIRSA National Flag Football Championships at the University of Texas at Dallas. These two individuals officiated with 50 other student officials from various institutions.
Drew Carney was selected as an All-American Flag Football Official, recognizing that he was one of the top 12 officials in the country. Congratulations to all the participating officials, and these individuals go above and beyond our expectations as student intramural officials. Their knowledge is brought back to the Rowan campus to continue the growth of intramural officiating in our program.
