How Students Request Roommates through MyHousing

Steps Students Should Follow To Select Roommate(s):

  • Log into www.rowan.edu/selfservice
  • Click on the student tab
  • Click on “MyHousing”
  • Click on “Manage My Housing”
  • Hover over, “Room Selection”
  • Finally click, “Roommate Selection”
  • Select a time frame to choose roommates

How To Search For a Roommate:

  • You can search for roommates by last name, first name, middle initial, and/or email. The search can just be partial too, so you could type in the first few letters of the first and last name if you are unsure of spelling. If there is more than one result, you will see first/middle/last/email for each student who matched your query.
  • You will also be able to search for students by the their preferences listed in their housing application
  • You will not be able to search for a student via their Rowan ID number

No Matching Students Found:

  • If you receive the message of “No matching students were found”, it may indicate one of the following situations:
    • They are not eligible for room selection
    • They are of the opposite gender
    • You misspelled your desired roommate’s name
    • You used a nickname and not his/her actual name

Reminders:

  • Each student in the group must mutually select all other roommates they would like to live with
  • When you see “Your Roommate Group is Fully Matched” on the main page and roommate page, you know you have successfully mutually selected one another

Added a Roommate By Accident?

  • If you accidentally added a roommate in error, simply click the “Remove” button next to that student. He/she will be informed that they were removed as a roommate.
