Frequently Asked Questions

If I buy a ticket to an SUP event, may I refund it if I am unable to attend?

SUP does not offer refunds to events that you are not able to attend. SUP does however have a “BUY/SELL” binder located in the Student Programming Suite (Student Center room 117). The “BUY/SELL” binder is maintained by the students wishing to buy or sell tickets to an event and SUP is NOT responsible for any tickets being bought or sold. It is up to the individuals buying the tickets to contact those selling the tickets; SUP simply provides means to connect students to one another.

If I am in another club, what services does SUP offer to help put on an event?

SUP has two options for those in other clubs who wish to use SUP services. SUP offers technical services which, will provide a trained technician and technical equipment to help the club put on an event. There is a fee for the technical services, and it is NOT possible to simply rent the equipment without the trained technician. Please also keep in mind that SUP technicians are NOT professional technicians but students who are familiar with setting up and operating the equipment. Tech forms may be downloaded here.

SUP also offers a Co-Sponsorship option for those clubs seeking funds for putting on an event with SUP. The club must first present the idea to the SUP executive board, and upon approval by a vote from the executive board, the event may proceed. The Co-Sponsorship policy implies that the event will be put on through the mutual cooperation of both SUP and the club seeking Co-Sponsorship, not as simply a means to gain extra funds for an event. For more information see Article 8 of the SUP By-Laws below detailing the SUP Co-Sponsorship Policy.

Section 1. Co-Sponsorship Policy
The Student University Programmers shall uphold a Co-Sponsorship Policy that shall be made available to all Student Government Association chartered organizations. Co- Sponsorship shall refer to any event that is conducted as a joint effort in planning and execution with another entity.

Organizations petitioning for a Co-Sponsorship must submit their request at least eight weeks prior to the event. A representative for the organization must present their upcoming event in order to be eligible at an Executive Session. All Co-Sponsorship requests must be submitted to the President of the Student University Programmers, who shall schedule their presentation.

Section 3. Consideration for the Office of Student Activities
An unlimited number of co-sponsored events may be executed in partnership with the Office of Student Activities. The Office of Student Activities is required only to submit a formal written request that must be approved by the Executive Board before any resources of the Student University Programmers may be made of use.

Section 4. Advertising
The Student University Programmers must be included in all forms of advertising for the co-sponsored event. All forms of advertising are subject to approval by a member of the Executive Board. All forms of advertising must be approved at least two weeks prior to the co-sponsored event.

Section 5. Limits per Organization
The Student University Programmers shall only co-sponsor one event per organization, per semester. No more than five hundred dollars ($500) per academic year per organization (including technical fees).
