What is “Achieving the MORE in SophoMORE”?
The sophomore year experience program is called “Achieving the MORE in SophoMORE. The program is designed to support sophomore students at Rowan University. It aims to increase sophomore student satisfaction, competence, engagement and personal awareness of identity and purpose. The program is designed to build connections and to ease transition to the sophomore year

What can sophomores expect as a result of participation in the sophomore program?
Who are sophomores?
- All second year students
- Students who have between 25 and 57.99 Credits
- Students who have just transferred to Rowan are included as long as they meet one of these two requirements
What can the sophomore program provide?
- “Achieving the MORE in Sophomore” provides:
- Assurance about academic plans and career paths
- Encouragement for directed exploration and self reflection
- Collaborative support from faculty, administration, and staff
- Interaction with fellow sophomores
- Opportunities to interact with faculty, administration, and staff outside the classroom and office
- Information and resources about specific sophomore “hot topics” such as study abroad, internship searching, and financial planning.
- Fun and engaging activities
Why has Rowan made our sophomore students a priority?
- Rowan University created the “Achieving the MORE in SophoMORE” program because:
- Sophomore year can be a challenging time for students.
- Sophomore students often need to explore themselves and their futures and specifically tailed support is helpful in this process
- Sophomores are often unsure of themselves
- For many students the second year is challenging and the program can help to prevent burnout, indecision, feelings of being invisible, confusion, and declining GPA.
What can sophomores expect as a result of participation in the sophomore program?
- Participants can expect to:
- Be excited about the second year of college
- Be more engaged and realize the value of their engagement
- Realize that they are valued by the University
- Have a better understanding of themselves, their major, and their career aspirations
- Build a strong network of connections throughout the University
