                                  House Calls Program

The Division of Student Affairs at Rowan University is continuing a Sophomore Experience Program this fall called “Achieving MORE in SophoMORE” to help sophomore students feel connected to the Rowan community and to increase sophomore to junior retention.  One very successful component of the program called “House Calls” will once again ask faculty, administration, professional staff and support staff to visit the Residence Halls and on-campus apartments to welcome sophomores back to campus and answer any questions.  It will allow sophomore students an opportunity to connect with members of the University community outside the classroom and feel they matter to us.  “House Calls” is a wonderful opportunity for academic and student affairs to play an integral role in students’ success at Rowan.  By working together we will demonstrate to our students that they are the purpose and center of our community.

The first date of the “House Calls” program will be Monday, September 14th  which will include training beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Student Center, Room 221.  The “House Calls” visits will begin at 8:30 p.m.  Each caller will be partnered with someone and will have about 30 doors to knock on together (60-90 residents reached).  A free T-shirt will be given to you to wear so students will know you are a participant.  We are sorry for the late hour but feedback from previous years recommended that more students will be home around 8:30 p.m.  On September 16, 2009 we will meet in the Student Center, Room 129.

If you would like to participate in this sophomore program, complete and submit the volunteer form. Please indicate which nights you can help.  All participants should plan to attend training on September 14th  at 7:30 p.m. even if you cannot visit the residence halls that evening.  Please complete the bottom portion and include your T-shirt size.  We look forward to your helping our students to “Achieving MORE in SophoMORE.”
