About the Student Center

The concept of the Student Center was introduced in 1964 with a committee organized by the Student Government Association.

The objectives of this committee were to ascertain the needs of the college community and the methods of meeting these needs through a Student Center.

In 1968 a questionnaire distributed among the students clearly revealed that the student body needed and was willing to support a Student Center building. Consequently, final drawings for the Student Center were approved in 1970. Formal ground breaking for the Student Center took place in the fall of 1971. The Student Center would then open its doors in the Spring semester of 1974
