Commencement 2008
May 19, 2008Be a lifelong learner. Seek experiences outside of your comfort zone. Think. And choose your path well.
Those were some of the remarks offered to members of Rowan’s undergraduate Class of 2008 during the University’s 84th annual Commencement ceremony, held indoors due to heavy rain in Glassboro.
Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Leonard Pitts, Jr. of The Miami Herald gave the Commencement address, receiving a standing ovation from graduates at the conclusion of his remarks. President Donald J. Farish, Board of Trustees President Ronald J. Ianoale, and students Gerald Santoleri and Brittany Meyer also addressed the graduates.
The University presented honorary degrees to rock legend Patti Smith and Dr. James A. Kutsch, Jr., president of The Seeing Eye, Inc.
Altogether, 2,000 students earned their degrees from the University.
