GLASSBORO -- While his peers fixed caps, zipped gowns and spent their remaining hour as college students chatting with loved ones, Francis Hancock stood silently clasping his hands and gazing out the window.

The threat of rain -- and subsequent showers -- perplexed the soon-to-be Business Administration graduate Friday morning.
