HEROIC ACT HONORED: Troop members receive Medals of Merit

MILLVILLE -- Two members of Boy Scouts of America Troop 137 now hold of one of scouting's highest awards.

Relatives pinned the Medal of Merit on Eagle Scout Brian Murphy, 18, and Assistant Scoutmaster Joseph A. Mathos, 56, during a ceremony Monday night at The Ukrainian National Home on Carmel Road.

The troop was told of the award last week, but it was kept a secret from Murphy, a physics major at Rowan University.
