Beauty creates the beasts

When Adriana Brattelli makes art, blood flows.

Not real blood, mind you, but close enough.

"My shower looked like a massacre," she says.

The Rowan University art student is describing a recent photo shoot in the bathroom of her Washington Township home, complete with a model sporting a convincingly "slashed" throat.

But Brattelli could have been describing one of her startling sculptures or her striking lithographs.

Examples of her distinctive, disturbing art will be on view at a one-woman show on March 20 at Westby Hall on the Rowan campus in Glassboro, where the 23-year-old Brattelli is a senior.
