Monmouth County Resident Honored by Rowan University Dean

Howard Van Salisbury, a Rowan University student from West Keansburg, was honored as an outstanding graduating senior by Dr. Jay Harper, dean of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. Harper cited one student from each major in the College during a recognition ceremony in April.

Van Salisbury, chosen from the Mathematics Department, was a member of the first team to take the nationally recognized Putnam Exam. He competed in the mathematics contest at the first Garden State Undergraduate Conference, served as president of the Math Club and volunteered his time as a tutor. He is currently student teaching and plans to teach at the high school level upon graduation.
