Rowan Celebrates National Astronomy DayMay 03, 2006
The Rowan University Department of Physics and Astronomy and the South Jersey Astronomy Club will observe National Astronomy Day on Saturday, May 6, from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m, in Science Hall at Rowan University.
Various activities will be held throughout the day, including presentations by members of the Astronomy Club on how to choose a telescope and observe the night sky (with a variety of telescopes set up to look at and discuss). Computerized presentations about various NASA space missions will run in classrooms, and if the sky is clear, telescopes also will be available to look at the sun and at bright planets.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, see the planetarium Web site at www.rowan.edu/planetarium.
