Glassboro students help Rowan celebrate planetarium giftMarch 13, 2007
Sixty first, second and third graders from the Dorothy L. Bullock School in Glassboro, along with donors Ric and Jean Edelman, will help celebrate the latest gift to the Fredric and Jean Edelman Planetarium at Rowan University on Thursday, March 22, at 11 a.m. in Science Hall.
The Glassboro students' involvement is of particular significance: The event will mark the latest gift from the Edelmans ? $54,000 given to the Rowan University Foundation to cover admission to the planetarium for elementary school children for the next year or so. They also donated $1 million to the Foundation in 2002 for the enhancement of the planetarium, the largest gift made by any undergraduate alumni in Rowan's history.
The day will include a ribbon cutting, planetarium show, pizza party and activities for the children and brief comments from Rowan President Dr. Donald Farish and the Edelmans.
