College of Engineering again accredited

September 18, 2007

The Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, a professional accrediting organization that evaluates engineering programs, has again awarded accreditation to the College of Engineering at Rowan University, Glassboro.

The accreditation comes after a lengthy process that included self-study and assessment by a team of professionals who conducted on-site evaluations of the entire College of Engineering. The College originally was accredited in 2001, and accreditation was retroactive to the first graduating class in 2000.

Today, 500 students are enrolled in chemical, civil and environmental, electrical and computer, and mechanical engineering majors in the College of Engineering. Their education consists of classroom studies, engineering clinics in which they conduct hands-on projects, and internships with major area firms and government organizations.
