Memorial contributions for Rowan University sophomore Donald Farrell will benefit charities dedicated to promoting organ donation awareness and to assisting cancer survivors and challenged athletes.
Mr. Farrell, 19, of Boonton, died Oct. 28 from injuries he sustained after he was robbed and assaulted on campus.
The Sharing Network Foundation raises funds to promote public education about the benefits of organ and tissue donation. Contributions to the foundation in Mr. Farrell's memory may be made to the Sharing Foundation Inc., 841 Mountain Ave., Springfield, N.J. 07081.
Team Triumph works to raise funds in support of cancer survivors and challenged athletes. Memorial contributions may be posted by visiting the team's web site at www.teamtriumph.org.
Services for Mr. Farrell are as follows: Visitation with the family will be Friday, Nov. 2, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Par-Troy Funeral Home, 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany (www.partroyfuneralhome.com). A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday, Nov. 3, at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, 10 Pocono Road, Mountain Lakes. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
Cards of condolence may be sent to the family in care of the funeral home.
