Rowan joins Focus the Nation for week of environmental activitiesJanuary 11, 2008
Rowan University will join more than 1,000 institutions - mostly colleges and universities - the week of January 28 for Focus the Nation, a national discussion on global warming and sustainability solutions for America. The week will culminate on Thursday, January 31, with teach-ins held at Rowan and throughout the United States.
The Rowan Focus the Nation Committee welcomes the community to join faculty, staff and students to learn more about the environment, environmental issues and how to become part of the solution. Information tables will be based at the Student Center, Rt. 322, throughout the week, and Rowan is hosting a series of activities and lectures Monday through Thursday, including a presentation on "An Inconvenient Truth," the original talk upon which the award-winning movie was based (Tuesday, January 29, 7:30 p.m. in the Rowan Hall auditorium) and a variety of lectures by professors (Thursday, January 31, all afternoon, in the Student Center). The events are free. For more information and a complete list of activities, visit www.rowan.edu/rugreen and click on "Focus the Nation."
