A little (self-) help?: Author to address popularity of self-help books at Rowan
March 18, 2008Indiana University professor Sandra Dolby will discuss the popular genre of self-help books as part of the Harrah's Emerging Voices Series at Rowan University on Wednesday, April 9, at 7 p.m. in the Rowan Art Gallery in Westby Hall.
A professor of folklore and American Studies at Indiana, Dolby is the author of Self-Help Books: Why Americans Keep Reading Them. Her talk is free and open to the public.

Also the author of Literary Folkloristics and the Personal Narrative, Dolby is director of the Folklore Institute at Indiana.
The Harrah's Emerging Voices Series was established through a $25,000 grant from Harrah's in 2006 to Rowan's Master of Arts in Writing program. The series brings prominent local and national writers to campus to interact with students and faculty members.
