Rowan pianist wins national honor

April 28, 2008

Rowan student Ana Cristea was honored with a third place finish at the Music Teachers National Association’s annual conference in Denver early this month.

An international student from Moldova, Cristea earned the recognition in the piano division at the MTNA Young Artists competition, held in conjunction with the national conference. She won her spot at the national event thanks to her first place finish in the MTNA Eastern Division Competition in January.

Cristea is now the fourth Rowan student to become a national finalist in this competition. She is a sophomore piano major at Rowan and a student of Veda Zuponcic.
