Rowan students inducted into criminal justice honor society

Twelve Rowan University students have been inducted into Alpha Phi Sigma, the national honor society for criminal justice majors.

    The inductees include: seniors Dara Kates of Cherry Hill; Jeneen Jones of Buena Vista; Meighan Sferra of Medford; Taisha Tolliver of Berlin; Preston Boyd of Waterford; Matthew Yates of Deptford; Richard Pearsall III of Flanders; Stephen Clipper of Hillsborough; Derek Stypolkowski of Sparta; Charles Pusloski of Voorhees; and juniors Tom Bedoe of Wayne; and Whitny Castano of Woolwich Township.
   
    According to the national organization's website, undergraduates earning induction into the national society must complete at least four criminal justice courses, place in the top 35 percent of their class, receive a recommendation from their chapter adviser and maintain a 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale.  Graduate students must complete four criminal justice courses and maintain a 3.4 GPA.

    Alpha Phi Sigma recognizes the academic success of undergraduate, graduate and juris doctorate students through its national organization and more than 280 chapters. The chapters are affiliated with the Academy of Criminal Justice Science and the Association of College Honor Societies.
