Rowan to hold Summer Institute in Materials Science for H.S. students

Rowan University will hold the 2008 Summer Institute in Materials Science for high school students June 22 to 27 on the Glassboro campus.

This program is open to high school students who have completed their sophomore year of high school, have interest and ability in science and/or engineering and are considering a career in those fields. Participants will enjoy hands-on learning experiences with Rowan faculty and students while using state-of-the-art equipment. Students will explore how science, engineering and new materials are helping shape the future; discover the micro-universe; make and break composite materials; and create a hologram using laser technology. Additionally, participants will learn about job opportunities in the high-tech field of materials science while experiencing college life and making new friends.
