Burlco residents earn doctorates from Rowan

Burlington County residents Frederick D. Johnson and Robert A. Krastek earned their doctoral degrees in educational leadership from Rowan University on May 15.

An elementary school principal in Moorestown, Johnson lives in Burlington Township with his wife, Latrell, and their children, Maya and Kiara. 

His dissertation focused on the benefits of collaborations between mainstream teachers and collaborating teachers.

Johnson earned his master's degree in educational administration in 1998 from St. Peter's College and his bachelor's degree in African-American Studies and political science from Rutgers University in 1994.

Superintendent of the Eastampton School District, where he also serves as principal of the middle school, Krastek holds a master's degree in educational administration from Rowan (1999), a master's in secondary education from the College of New Jersey (1975), and a bachelor's degree in political science from Duquesne University (1971).

His doctoral dissertation examined the role of the principal in transforming the culture of a middle school through the use of emotional intelligence.

A resident of Riverside, Krastek's family includes his wife, Leila, and their grown children, Eric and Caroline.
