Rowan team takes chemical engineering award
August 27, 2008The American Society for Engineering Education recently presented its Chemical Engineering Division 2008 Best Poster Award to a team from Rowan University's College of Engineering.
Chemical engineering professor Dr. Zenaida Otero Gephardt, of Wilmington; chemical engineering technician Marvin Harris, of Lawrenceville; and adjunct professor John Natoli, of Ambler, Pa., earned the honor for their work on "A Laboratory Safety Program to Promote Student Safety Consciousness, Enhance the Curriculum and Strengthen University Industry Interactions."
With more than 12,000 members, ASEE, according to its website, is a nonprofit organization of individuals and institutions committed to furthering education in engineering and engineering technology. Among other efforts, it promotes excellence in instruction, research, public service, and practice and fosters the technological education of society, according to the organization.
