Art Gallery showcases work by Tony Rosati
September 26, 2008The work of a New Jersey native and artist is featured in “Tony Rosati: Prints & Paintings” at the Rowan University Art Gallery, September 29 – October 31, 2008. A Gallery Talk followed by a Reception welcomes the new exhibit on Thursday, October 2 from 5 – 6:30 pm.
An acclaimed printmaker and painter, Rosati showcases recent monotypes, prints and paintings at Rowan. His landscape subject matter is presented both realistically and through lyrical abstraction. Distorting color and form, the artist seeks to address feelings of yearning in his visual expression of nature. His work has been exhibited throughout the region, and included in many public and private collections. In addition to his work as an artist, Rosati is Chair of the Printmaking Department at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia. The Trenton, NJ native earned his BA in Fine Art from Rider College and his MFA in Printmaking from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University.
Admission to the Art Gallery and the reception is free and open to the public.
