Rohrer College of Business to host entrepreneurship lectureNovember 07, 2008
The Rohrer College of Business at Rowan University will host the its Second Annual Entrepreneurship Lecture in the Eynon Ballroom in the Chamberlain Student Center on Monday, November 17, at noon. A reception will follow the lecture, which is part of the College’s recognition of Global Entrepreneurship Week November 17 to 23.
Dr. Stephen Spinelli Jr., president of Philadelphia University, will present "Practicing a Lifetime of Entrepreneurship." A leader in business and academia, Spinelli was a co-founder of Jiffy Lube International and chairman and CEO of the American Oil Change Corporation. He helped pioneer the quick lube industry nationwide and turned Jiffy Lube into the nation's dominant competitor, with more than 1,000 service centers, according to his biography. Spinelli also has consulted for major corporations such as Fidelity Investments, Intel Corporation, IBM Corporation and Allied Domecq. He spent 14 years at Babson College, Wellesley, Ma., where he chaired the entrepreneurship division, was director of the Arthur M. Blank Center for Entrepreneurship and held the Alan Lewis Chair in Global Management. He also has served in leadership roles for a number of community, business and professional associations.
He received his Ph.D. in economics from The Management School, Imperial College, University of London; his M.B.A. from Babson College; and his B.A. in economics from McDaniel College, Westminster, Md..
