diNovi named assistant dean in Rowan's College of Liberal Arts & SciencesJanuary 29, 2009
Haddonfield resident Kristen diNovi has been named assistant dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) at Rowan University.
diNovi joins Rowan from Temple University, where she served as an academic adviser in the Academic Resource Center for six years before becoming assistant director of advising services in 2006.
The center serves students in the Division of University Studies, the academic unit for undergraduate students who have not yet declared a major, students in the pre-health program, and non-matriculated students.
"Kristen is energetic and eager to continue the supportive relationship of the dean's office with our students," LAS Dean Jay Harper said. "She has an excellent background that prepares her for the position, including extensive work with undeclared students. I'm certain she will be a splendid addition to the Rowan family."
Active in the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA), diNovi serves as NACADA'S Eastern Pennsylvania State Liaison. In 2007, she received the Jeff Gardner Memorial Scholarship from NACADA Region 2.
diNovi, who received the 2006 Outstanding Professional Adviser Award from Temple, currently is pursuing her doctorate in educational psychology from the university. She holds a master's degree in educational administration/higher education from Temple, earned in 2001. In 1994, diNovi earned her bachelor's degree in psychology, summa cum laude, from Montclair State University.
