Rowan Career Fair seeks to get grads in the doorFebruary 05, 2009
Even in the down economy, many businesses are still looking to hire Rowan University students. To aid both potential employers and students, Rowan will host a campus-wide Career Fair on Tuesday, February 24, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Recreation Center gymnasium on Rowan's Glassboro campus.
Sponsored by the Rowan Career and Academic Planning (CAP) Center as well as the Colleges of Business, Communication, Engineering and Liberal Arts and Sciences, the event will feature booths staffed by companies looking to distribute information and discuss career opportunities, specific position openings and internship possibilities.
Students will be invited to network with these professionals and distribute their resumes as they discuss employment opportunities.
The fair brings together employers and students from the technical, business, communication and other fields. The event welcomes students seeking full-time careers; part-time jobs; and internships in the areas of biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering (chemical, civil and environmental, electrical and computer, and mechanical), mathematics, physics, accounting, entrepreneurship, finance, marketing, management, management information systems, human resources, advertising and public relationsand communications, among others. Last year, more than 600 students attended.
The cost to businesses is $150 per table (two seats per table), and lunch is included.
