Rowan to host free astronomy lecture
March 30, 2009The Rowan University Department of Physics & Astronomy will present its annual Spring Equinox Astronomy Lecture on Wednesday April 1, at 7 p.m. in the Betty Long Rowan Lecture Hall in Rowan Hall (the College of Engineering building off Bowe Boulevard in Glassboro).
Dr. Harry Shipman from the University of Delaware will give a talk titled “Planets Beyond Earth.” The talk, free and open to the public and at a level appropriate to a general audience, will focus on the more than 300 planets that teams of astronomers have discovered outside this solar system since the mid-1990s.
