'Taking Flight': Rowan to celebrate Homecoming & Family Weekend 2010October 20, 2010
If you're a proud member of the Brown and Gold Rowan University family--or you just want to learn more about the depth and breadth of the University--Glassboro is the place to be Oct. 27-31 as Rowan celebrates Homecoming & Family Weekend 2010.
"Taking Flight" is the theme of this year's celebration and events during the weekend will pay tribute to the theme, which illustrates the many changes the University has undergone over the past few years.
An annual highlight of the weekend is the Homecoming & Family Weekend Parade, which begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30, from the University Green oval in front of Bunce Hall.
The parade, which also will include Glassboro High School participants as they also celebrate Homecoming, will weave through town and end up at Lot C on Bowe Boulevard. There, six student floats will present skits and will be judged on their Rowan spirit and their use of the "Taking Flight" theme.
The parade will precede the Rowan/Morrisville State College football game, which begins at 1:30 p.m. in Coach Richard Wackar Stadium.
Events throughout the weekend also will include $5 hot air balloon rides on the soccer field, a food drive, a family obstacle course, and tours of Hollybush Mansion, as well as picnics, a pep rally, arts events, and residence hall and classroom visits.
