New York-based poet to perform her work at Rowan University

New York-based poet Eileen Myles will read her poetry and prose on Monday, March 28, at 7 p.m. in the Westby Hall Art Gallery at Rowan University.  Myles has performed her work across North America, as well as in Iceland, Ireland, and Russia.

A University of Massachusetts-Boston graduate, Myles got her start in writing in Manhattan's East Village. In addition to poetry and fiction, she has written art criticism, plays, and opera libretti.

In 2009 her first full collection of essays and art writing, The Importance of Being Iceland, was published. Her most recent work, Inferno (A Poet's Novel), was released by O/R Publishing in 2010.

Myles is Professor Emerita of Writing and Literature at the University of California, San Diego.

Her appearance is free and open to the public.
