Rowan hosts observatory open houseApril 08, 2011
The Rowan Astronomical Observatory, Science Hall, Rowan University, Glassboro, will host an open house on Tuesday, April 12, from 8 to 10 p.m., weather permitting.
The observatory and observing deck will open to the public. A suite of telescopes will be available to view Saturn, the Moon and many more celestial objects. This event is outdoors and visitors should dress accordingly. As an added attraction, free shows describing the nighttime sky in the Edelman Planetarium will be offered at 7 and 7:30 p.m. These planetarium shows will feature a new digital full-dome video system that displays the sky in greater detail than before the recent planetarium upgrade.
This free event is open to the public. Children are welcome with adult supervision.
In the event of clouds, the open house will be rescheduled later in the week.
