Alumnus lends a hand to professional, community organizationsApril 11, 2011
Whether it's in his career or in his community, Rowan University alumnus Brian W. Jones believes in making a difference...a real difference.
Senior Vice President/Chief Lending Officer of Newfield National Bank in Newfield, Jones is responsible for the daily operation of the bank's lending function and serves on the independent community bank's Asset Liability Committee, Strategic Planning Committee and Senior Loan Committee.
His prominence in the field of finance led to his appointment to the Board of Directors of the Southern New Jersey Chapter of RMA (the Risk Management Association), a key professional organization for finance professionals.
But Jones, a Woodbury resident who earned his bachelor's degree in administrative studies from Rowan in 1981, also is deeply committed to his community. Chair of the Gloucester County Special Services Education Foundation, he's also a member of the State of New Jersey Medical Reserve Corporation and a steering committee member of the New Jersey Business Leadership Network.
Just recently, Jones was appointed to the executive board of the Southern New Jersey Council of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). The council provides the scouting program to the counties of Cumberland, Gloucester, Camden, Salem, Cape May and also the communities of Buena and Buena Vista. The Southern New Jersey Council of the BSA serves over 5,600 youth with 215 chartered units.
Formerly district chairman of BSA's Gloucester District, Jones is a recipient of many past honors from the Boy Scouts, including the District Award of Merit and the President's Award for Outstanding Service.
A 1987 graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Delaware, Jones formerly served as vice president/commercial lender for Jefferson Bank of New Jersey.
