Here they come: 1,400 freshmen to move in at Rowan U on Aug. 27

Approximately 1,400 freshmen are expected to move into eight residence halls and five apartments, on Saturday, Aug. 27, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Rowan University, 201 Mullica Hill Road, Glassboro, N.J.

The Rowan community once again will be heavily involved in this annual rite of passage, with Interim President Dr. Ali Houshmand and faculty and staff from Residential Learning and University Housing, Facilities Management and Public Safety departments assisting. Numerous upperclassmen, including representatives of Greek and other organizations, will volunteer for the day, assisting freshman and their families and friends as they unload and move the new students’ belongs. (NOTE: Houshmand will help students at Evergreen Hall around 9:30 a.m. before heading elsewhere on campus.)

According to the Office of Admissions, the University has received deposits from 1,687 freshmen this year. Firm statistics on the exact size of the Class of 2015 (known as 10th day statistics) will be available in early September.

(Upperclassmen will move in n Sunday, Aug. 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. About half of the students living on Rowan Boulevard will move in on Monday, Aug. 29.)
