"Passport to the Future": Rowan to celebrate Homecoming & Family Weekend 2011October 21, 2011
If you’re a proud member of the Rowan University family -- or you are looking to learn more about the University -- Glassboro is the place to be through Oct. 23 as Rowan celebrates Homecoming & Family Weekend 2011.
“Passport to the Future” is the theme of this year’s celebration and events during the weekend will pay tribute to the theme, which illustrates the growth of the University and where the Rowan community sees the University going in the future.
An annual highlight of the weekend is the Homecoming & Family Weekend Parade, which begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, from Lot D on Heston Street.
The parade, which will include Glassboro High School participants as they also celebrate Homecoming, will weave through town and end up at Lot C on Bowe Boulevard. Student floats will present skits and will be judged on their Rowan spirit and their use of the theme, “Passport to the Future.”
Following the parade, the Rowan/Buffalo State University football game will begin at 1:30 p.m. in Coach Richard Wackar Stadium.
Events throughout the week will also include a “Block Party,” food drive and tours of Hollybush Mansion, as well as art events, picnics and a pep rally.
