Rowan to Host Program on PrisonsMarch 08, 1999
The Law and Justice Studies Department of Rowan University will present <+>Reconciling Rehabilitation and
Retribution,<+> a panel discussion featuring prominent area legal experts, on Wednesday, April 7, from 3:30 to
5 p.m. in the Student Center ballroom.
Guest speakers will be Dr. Joseph Dillon Davey, professor of law and justice studies at Rowan University
and author of <+>The Politics of Prison Expansion<+> and <+>The New Social Contract<+>; Dr. Joseph P. Gallagher,
former commissioner of the Philadelphia prison system; The Hon. Lawrence Lawson, assignment judge,
Superior Court of Monmouth County; The Hon. Joseph Lisa, trial judge, Superior Court of Gloucester
County; John P. McCarthy, Jr., director, AOC Office of Trial Court Services, Division of the New Jersey
Supreme Court; and Lee Solomon, Camden County prosecutor. Moderator will be Dr. Wanda D. Foglia,
chair of the Law and Justice Studies Department at Rowan University.
The event, which is part of Rowan University's 75th Anniversary Lecture Series, is free and open to the
