CPA group honors Rohrer College of Business' Van BruntMay 21, 2012
The New Jersey Society of CPAs has named Margaret Van Brunt, assistant dean for the Rohrer College of Business at Rowan University, Glassboro, one of its “2012 Women of Note.” The organization will feature Van Brunt in the July/August issue of New Jersey CPA magazine.
The Cherry Hill resident earned a B.A. degree in accounting from Rutgers University and is a certified public accountant. She joined Rowan University in 1980 as an adjunct faculty member and moved into a three-quarter-time faculty position in 1984. In July 1999, she became a member of the Dean’s Office staff, first holding the position of assistant to the dean and now assistant dean.
Van Brunt works with the dean in all areas of the operation of the Rohrer College of Business. She serves as an ex-officio member of the Chair’s Council, Undergraduate Policy and Curriculum Committee and Assurance of Learning Committee. She is the faculty advisor to the Bureau of Business Associations. In addition, she directs the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program on campus. She recently coordinated the Rowan University Employee Charitable Campaign.
Prior to coming to Rowan, she worked in the tax departments of Deloitte LLC and IU International Corporation. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. Currently, she is secretary of the Southwest Jersey Chapter of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, for which she will serve as vice president starting June 1. She also serves on the editorial board of New Jersey CPA magazine, for which she has authored numerous articles.
