Rohrer College of Business marks 40th anniversary; Shark Tank's Daymond John keynote speaker at Sept. 28 dinner
August 08, 2012The Rohrer College of Business at Rowan University, Glassboro, will mark its 40th anniversary with 40 hours of academic, social and community activities starting in September.
Among the highlights of the anniversary will be a mini “Shark Tank” event on Friday, Sept. 28, at 3:45 p.m. in Boyd Recital Hall in Wilson Hall. Five student and professional entrepreneurs will present on their businesses/programs before a panel of judges that includes internationally known entrepreneur Daymond John, of ABC Television’s “Shark Tank.” Area business leaders Marc Kramer, of Philadelphia’s Angel Venture Fair, and real estate professional and philanthropist Linda Rohrer, of Haddon Township, will join him as judges.
That evening, the Rohrer College of Business will host a dinner in the Eynon Ballroom of the Chamberlain Student Center on Route 322, with Daymond John as the keynote speaker.
The dinner also will include presentations of the William G. Rohrer Business Leader of the Year Award to Gerry Shreiber, president and CEO of J&J Snack Foods Corp., Pennsauken, and Distinguished Business Alumni Awards to West Deptford’s Dorothy Stubblebine, Class of 1980, managing principal of DJS Associates, West Deptford; Wenonah’s Paul Tully, CFP, Class of 1999, owner of Eagle Wealth Strategies, West Deptford; and Glassboro’s Sarah Piddington, Classes of 2003 and 2005, director of sponsored programs and technology transfer in the Office of Sponsored Programs at Rowan University.
A VIP cocktail party featuring Mr. John will be held at 5 p.m. A reception will be held at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. Pre-registration is required and tickets are limited. Tickets for the reception/dinner are $75. Tickets for the reception/dinner and VIP cocktail party with Mr. John are $150.
