Engineering hosts 10th annual Pumpkin Chunkin' on Nov. 1October 23, 2013
The Rowan University chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) will hold its 10th annual Pumpkin Chunkin’ event on Friday, Nov. 1, at 2 p.m. on the Rowan Hall Green.
At least nine teams of students will compete in a battleship-themed competition to sink team ships with pumpkin-throwing catapults.
Teams will include students from the Rowan ASME, Rowan Society of Automotive Engineers, University of Delaware, Temple University, Philadelphia University, Widener University, The College of New Jersey and Washington Township High School.
Pumpkin Chunkin’ is a fun event that is open to the public and promotes the use of basic engineering skills by students of all educational backgrounds.
A free barbeque lunch will be served shortly after noon, and there will be free Pumpkin Chunkin’ T-shirts for participating students.
